I recently illustrated a friend's pups for her as a surprise gift!

1st Anniversary!

To celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary, Ryan and I headed to Mt. St. Helens, then stopped at Mt. Rainier on the way home. It was a fantastic getaway weekend!

Here's a sneak peek from a children's book I finished illustrating last week. I'm so excited! More details to come when I'm allowed to share!

Tiny neighbors...

We had a little Dark-eyed Junco family decide to build a nest in a flower pot by our front door this year. It was great to get to see them grow up and leave the nest! Nature is amazing!

East coast wedding celebration...

Ryan and I just returned from celebrating our August 13th wedding with my side of the family in the Pittsburgh area. What a hectic but exciting year this has been!

I painted this dog portrait as a Christmas gift for a family friend. It's a surprise, but I know he and his family are going to love it! (It was painted in acryla gouache.)

Holidaze...

We put the last of the decorations up this past weekend. Now all I need is more Seattle snow!

It's December already!?!

I'm not sure what exactly happened to November other than snow here in the Seattle area, Thanksgiving feasting as well as a busy full-time job schedule. Even with the hectic pace of the month, I did manage to create and submit another recipe to They Draw & Cook. This time it was for the Holiday contest. My previous one made it to the blog on November 10th (this one), so we'll see if my little snowman makes it as well! It's not "traditional holiday", as in directly Christmas related, but it means holiday to me with the bright colors of all the Christmas lights and the snowman reminding me of cold days spent playing outside in the snow and then coming inside to warm up with a hot drink. Good times...

Oldie but goodie...

Here's on old art school project I painted in oils. The assignment was "create a painting that incorporates at least three eggs somehow". I've always liked this piece. Maybe this is when my obsession with chickens started?
